I originally met Jake through a friend of mine that kindof liked him. Then we ended up being in the same single's ward and became acquaintances/friends through the ward I guess.
2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
I probably just introduced myself. We picked Jake up on our way to a group ski trip up at East Lake. I didn't even consider liking him when we first met so it wasn't that memorable, however, I do remember our car ride quite vividly.
3. Where was your first date?
Jake asked me out on a group Halloween date, which turned into one of the most dramatic life changing experiences of my life. I won't bore you with the details. The date was actually really fun. Jake provided matching "baller" costumes and had a special ipod mix to go with the theme of the night. We ate dinner at Shivers and then everyone met up at Granite Furniture (family business to one of the guys on the date) and had a mini haunted house experience and watched a scary movie, I think it was called "White Noise."
4. Where was your first kiss?
At Andrew Richard's house, in a bedroom, but it wasn't a makeout.
5. Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement?
I'd say average. We dated a year and a half before getting engaged, and we were engaged for 3 1/2 months.
6. Where did you get engaged?
Jake proposed to me in San Francisco. We had rented bikes to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge and on our way to the bridge we stopped at a pier to enjoy the view and take a rest from our mild bike ride. Jake was acting really strange (kinda goofy) but I just brushed it off, and now it all makes sense to me... he was acting spaced out because he was so nervous and distracted. He told me he wanted to "dangle fingers in the ocean", so I decided to humor him and go along with his weirdness... as we were walking away from the water Jake stopped and told me he had a surprise for me in his bag "Do you want it?" He asked. "When did you get it?" I asked back. "I don't know, a few days ago... do you want it?" I kept convincing myself that he was not proposing, there was NO WAY he could be proposing. I hadn't picked out a ring or anything. But then, he pulled out a box and got down on his knee! The rest, as they say, is history (although, not alot of history because we've only been married two months.) Good times!
**This is right after our engagement... I told some guy we had just been engaged and would he mind taking a picture... didn't speak a lick of english. The first person to know we were engaged and he didn't even understand me!!!
7. Where were you married?
We were married in the Salt Lake Temple, which was beautiful. We also had perfect sunny weather, which is lucky considering we were married in November. The leaves were colorful and the air was crisp... just perfect. We had a dinner/reception at La Caille restaurant that night.
8. How did your reception go?
Reception couldn't have gone any smoother. Everything turned out just as planned from the flowers, to food, to the cake, to the dancing. I would give anything to go back to that night as a guest, so I could have enjoyed all the pieces of the planning I had spent the last 3 months doing. The night went by all too fast and I would have loved another hour to just chill out and eat some of the food, appreciate the flowers, and break it down on the dance floor. I wouldn't have changed one thing though.
9. How was your honeymoon?
Awesome. I'll be honest... after two years of dating we had never been on a trip with just the two of us. It felt weird to not have to make plans with the rest of a group or check in with anyone, we were on our own for the very first time. It was a very relaxing trip though, which was much needed after months and weeks of planning.
10. Who's turn is next?
Why don't I tag Miranda. I'm sure she'll have plenty to share.

SO much fun to read your little History. I hope you had a great Christmas being married!
I so forgot about that car ride back from East Canyon. I believe I drove like a crazy woman (not shocking) and that we sang Jo Dee Messina at the top of our lungs for about 1/2 the way home. Good times.

Loved getting to know more about you and Jake - you are a darling couple, and when we saw you guys over Christmas you both seemed to happy! Seriously, you both were glowing. Hey - speaking of Christmas break - will you please email me that awesome salsa recipe you brought to the party? Also - we just got back to AZ and I got your Christmas card, darling! Wished I could have seen that cake cutting in person, but looked fun and that cake looked divine!
