Birthday Extravaganza!!!

So, if you haven't noticed... I kindof love my birthday. Ok, not kindof... I'm psychotic, obnoxious and completely selfish on this one glorious day (at least it's the only day I act this way on purpose.) I've never understood why more people don't take advantage of the "birthday" perks?? For example, my co-workers and I walk to Starbucks at least 3 times a week to buy a nice hot drink to warm us up on our walk back, and also get us out of the office for 20 minutes. Well, when you make friends with the Starbucks workers and your co-workers know your obsession with your birthday (so they tell the employees) you totally get a free drink! Maybe that's not a big deal to any of you, but free drink just for turning a year older... I'm all over that.

Another perk to everyone knowing it's your birthday is that it seems to be an unwritten excuse to roll into work late and then take a long lunch... and possibly not come back for the rest of the day. Um... do "birthday perks" get much better?? I think not.

I also eat better during my birthday week than I do any other holiday during the year. When you have a husband, parents, in-laws and friends as wonderful as mine you are treated to all sorts of high class meals.

**Bad picture alert: I look overweight and have multiple chins in this picture, but check out our food! I highly recommend Chimayo on Main Street in Park City when someone else is paying. The food was ridiculously good and pricey. If I worked for Zagat, Chimayo would get 5 stars, which means, "damn... this grub is good!"**

I can keep going... you get "Happy Birthday!" text messages all day, people sing to you, your husband brings you breakfast in bed, people offer to buy you lunch, and if your co-workers are as AWESOME as mine, your desk might look like this when you come into work on your special day...
These are my awesome co-workers (who don't approve of this picture). I don't know how they knew it was my birthday???

Now I'll be honest... these things don't just naturally happen. You can't just NEVER mention your birthday and then expect everyone you know to remember... it just doesn't happen that way. If you want to feel like a princess on your birthday you have to tell everyone you come in contact with when your birthday is. If you want people to celebrate your birthday with you... throw yourself a party... people are always willing to come socialize when you bribe them with desserts! Also, who cares how old you are... I know one day I will dread the age I will be turning, but that will never stop me from taking advantage of perks of being the birthday girl:)

In conclusion, I would just like to thank all my wonderful friends who have put up with my birthday obsession for so many years! I just love having an excuse to hear from all of you and to remember how fabulous and thoughtful you all are! (I have the greatest friends!!!)So until next April 3rd (or really October 3rd cause that's when I start counting down), bye bye 26th birthday... you were 100% unforgettable!!

Tina- I can't believe I forgot your b-day!!! I totally thought of you all week, and even on the 2nd, I thought "tomorrow is Tina's b-day, I have to call her!" I mean, it's like the one time out of the year I call you! Anyway, I noticed last night it was the 4th and that I had totally forgotten - sorry, but hey HAPPY LATE B-DAY and know that I was thinking about you the whole week (minus the actual day!) Ok, so the cubicle picture is the funniest thing I have ever seen - Wow, you must have awesome co-workers. Even being the b-day specialist as you are, I bet you were even impressed with that incredible decor! Glad you had a fun day! Love ya, Katie

Wahoo for birthdays! :) We are glad we were able to share in part of it with you. I don't think birthdays get old until you are 100 or something. Let the countdown begin for next years big day.....

I see no double chin in your picture at dinner. I think you look cute. However, if you could please take that picture of me of this post because i count about 8 chins on me and I do not like it.

Thank you.

And have a good day.

And happy birthday.
